I want order from your webstore but I don't have paypal/credit card, can I send a money order/cash?
Yes, please use the webstore to order your records, it will calculate your total with postage for you, then print (or write) out your order after its been completed. Put that in an envelope with a money order written out to TANKCRIMES and send it to our address below. Cash is accepted at your risk, sending cash in the mail can be sketchy and we strongly advise against it. No personal checks.
Where do I send my demos/singles/CD’s etc. ?
Preferably to another label. We strongly discourage you from sending us anything like this.
How about if I send you links to my MP3’s or web pages?
Please, don't do this. We appreciate that many talented artists are trying to be heard, but sending us email about your MP3 files is not the way to do it. If this means we run the risk of missing out on some tremendous new sounds, so be it. You've probably missed out on something really great once or twice before in your life, but you haven't let that drive you insane.
My band/label is looking for distribution, can you sell our stuff in your webstore? Do you trade releases?
We do trade releases, but we are very selective. Look at what we have in our store, we have no interest in your country bluegrass jam band cd. But if you have a killer punk or metal release (preferably on vinyl) we may be interested in a trade. Please send an email with what you have available (with description) and also what you are interested in from our catalog, we only trade Tankcrimes releases. What also helps is letting us know what you are doing to help us sell your record (ie, promos, reviews, adverts, blogs, myspaces) and how you will be selling ours (ie, box distro at shows, webstore, local store, on tour, ect.) We have had too many crappy trades in the past where not only do we have 10 shitty records no one wants (or has ever even heard about) but the label we traded with has got 10 of our sought after out of print records sitting in a box in their closet when we could be selling them. We do not wholesale or do consignment from other labels.
I want a promo CD for my print magazine/webzine/blog, please send me one/add me to your list:
Please send in samples of your writing work and any/all information about publications / websites your work is featured on (ie, view counts, print numbers, etc). If you cannot provide this info, do not write.
I want a promo CD for my radio show/podcast/whatever:
We do service stuff like this but we need to know our effort is not futile, please send all info (ie, playlist, subscribers, advertising) and also which particular release(s) you are interested in and we will consider it.
Can you set up a show for my band in SF/Oakland Bay Area?
No, we cannot help you. We do though have a bit of advise, if your band is active in booking/playing in your own local area setting up shows for other touring bands you will soon have all the important contacts you need to set up a tour for yourself. It's called being part of the scene. If you cannot draw 10 people who aren't your boyfriend to a local show and have a cdr demo and a myspace account, stay home and work on your act.

We are currently distributed by EBULLITION and CHOKE. If you can't / won't order from them for whatever reason, please write us and we'd be happy to deal direct.
I don't buy records, can I download Tankcrimes releases anywhere?
Our releases are available digitally from iTunes, eMusic and most all major providers, just search our bands from your preferred source or hit the links on our Releases page.
Where do I press CDs and vinyl for my band / label / spoken word solo project?
We use PIRATES PRESS for all of our vinyl and cds. We (mostly) use MAMMOTH SOUND MASTERING for our mastering. Our jackets/sleeves and inserts are either done through PIRATES PRESS (gatefolds and standard jackets), MONOLITH PRESS (screen printing) and/or ECONOPRESS (offset inserts and ep covers). We highly recommend all of these fine independent businesses.
